Shapely, Shimmery Bodies! (Part 2)

As we say farewell to Uggs, parkas, and leggings welcoming back tank tops, sandals, and shorts we must not overlock skincare protection. Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Should I say it again? Yes! Sunscreen!

Sunscreen is a must to shield the skin against dangerous UVA and UVB rays that age, burn, dehydrate the skin, and cause cancer. UVB rays are short rays that act on the surface of skin causing burns. UVA rays go deep into the live laver of the skin damaging collagen and elastin causing premature aging of the skin known as "photoaging".

It is essential to apply sunscreen thirty minutes before sun exposure. This allows the product to fully penetrate into the skin providing optimal protection. The amount of time sunscreen works is formulated by SPF multiplied by ten giving you the minutes. So a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 gives you 300 minutes or five hours of protection (30x10=300). This does not include the 30 minutes you need to wait after application. So, if you place a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 on at noon. You are safe at 12:30 until 5:00. You need to reapply more sunscreen at 4:30. This allows the second application to fully penetrate before the first application becomes

ineffective. Important point! Wear sunscreen everyday not just sunny days. UVA and UVB rays penetrate through clouds and windows.

Beauty Counter's Protect All Over Sunscreen is an excellent choice for sun protection. It has an SPF of 30 with UVA and UVB waterproof protection. It also contains hydrating aloe and antioxidant protection in the form of green tea and blood orange.
